Duct-O-Wire Co.
Duct-O-Wire specializes in the design and production of electrification and control products tailored for overhead cranes, monorails, hoists, trolleys, and automatic stacker-retrieval systems. The company focuses on providing safe and cost-effective power solutions for material handling applications. Founded in 1955 by Chester Mason, Duct-O-Wire emerged from the Crane Hoist Engineering Corporation (CHECO), which was established shortly after World War II. CHECO was known for its innovative crane designs, including a notable 300-foot interlocking bridge crane system at the Boeing Aircraft facility in Everett, Washington, which remains operational today. Initially based in Bell, California, Duct-O-Wire relocated its manufacturing operations to Long Beach, California, in 1964, and later to a larger facility in Corona, California. The company expanded its reach into Canada in 1966 with operations starting in Oakville, Ontario, and later moving to Burlington, Ontario, in 2008. In the United States, Duct-O-Wire established a manufacturing and distribution site in Waukesha, Wisconsin, in 1971, which was subsequently moved to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, in 1987 and expanded in 1999 to meet growing demand. Duct-O-Wire's products are distributed through various channels, including crane manufacturers, service companies, and electrical wholesalers across North America and internationally. The company remains family-owned and is committed to upholding the principles of quality, value, service, and professionalism as set forth by its founder.
