Insulated products are manufactured by the steel industry in the form of sandwich panels, which consist of two thin metal cover sheets which are shear resistant. The sandwich panels are bonded to one another on an insulated core. The insulated core normally consist of any of the following:

• Polyurethane

• Foam

• Expanded polystyrene form

• Phenolc form

• Cellular glass

• Mineral wool

Sandwich panels are prefabricated products designed to use as building envelops. Manufacturing Process:

• The top and bottom coils (sheet metal) are clamped onto the unwinding unit, and fed into the machine

• The corona system cleans both reverse sides of the sheet metal, using high frequency to remove greases and dirt while also guaranteeing the best possible subsequent full spread adhesion between insulate core and sheer metal

• Protective films are rolled onto either the outside only or onto the outsides of both metal sheets before they are fed into the roll formers

• The panel is then fed into a heated drying tunnel

• After leaving the tunnel, the panel is then cut to specification.

Important Things To Consider When Ordering Sandwich Panels Insulation:

• Intended use of building – to ensure the sandwich panel envelop meets the required demands and purpose of building. Including expected emission, the architectural design must be considered

• Building location – load-bearing capacity is also important. Wind pressure and wind suction plus snow loads must also be considered.

• The fitting and insulation company must carry the responsibility for the correct load bearing capacity.

• Color groups – there are three groups that are based on the increasing thermal absorption properties of darker colors. The lighter the color, the more heat energy is reflected and not stored in the sheet material

• Coatings – contractor must specify coating to suit recommended application.

• Selected contractor is liable in the event of problems with the energy performance certificate at the later stage
