The field of manufacturing is a broad one that includes many different aspects to it. Likewise, they use different and various tools to produce various manufactured goods, such as lasers. In manufacturing lasers have been used in a wide variety of projects because of their ability to use precision and cut a variety of different things. They can also be used as a welding tool on specific projects.Due to their capabilities they are capable of working on sensitive or heavy duty projects and still do a great job with precision.

These many jobs can lead to them being used for just about anything that a person can think of that may include:

Heat treating

Surface treatment

With these many capabilities they can break down to different fields of manufacturing of specific products. For example, the automotive industry greatly benefits from the use of a laser to put products together. Whereas many of the parts that were put together on a vehicle were formerly done so by man, you’ll find now that both things in the inside and outside are now coming in direct contact with lasers during the manufacturing process.

From putting together the air bag materials, the door, the body also known as the shell, and many more areas. These are all taken care of by a laser with expert precision. Even when it comes to much simpler things such as a visit to the grocery store, you’ll find that lasers have played a part in the production of placing holes in bags that your vegetables are stored in. Manufacturers are benefiting from the use of lasers because they are so clean and easy to use. There is little to no residue left behind on the package in which it’s being used, no harsh or dangerous chemicals, and more cost-efficient.

More so you’ll find that lasers are even used on some of the electronics that people frequently buy, as well as used to operate specific products. This includes some more familiar things such as a laser pointer, laser printer, familiar gaming consoles that we love such as Xbox, PS4’s and more. All these products work with a built in laser that operates them. The gaming systems we mentioned earlier work in much that way. When a game or movie is inserted, the eye inside of the machine produces a laser which in turn scans the contents of the inserted disk and thus is capable of both reading and storing information. Not all lasers are used in an industrial way, as they have many other uses as well.

Most office equipment you will find also operates with the use of a small, low powered laser that is designed to read information given to it, and then distributed to something such as paper. These are things that we use every day, but give such little thought too at the time.
